Leaving the plan before retirement
If you leave the plan before you are eligible for a pension, you will receive a refund of your contributions, plus interest, less taxes. You will not be entitled to any employer contributions, you will not be entitled to a pension and you will not be eligible for post-retirement insured benefits. Due to your returned contributions, you will also receive a Pension Adjustment Reversal (PAR) to restore RRSP contribution room.
Please note, there are no provisions within the PJPP that allow for the transfer of any accrued benefits to another pension plan.
