At OPB, staying connected with our members is a priority – that’s why it’s extremely important that you keep your information accurate and up-to-date. Two specific areas you want to ensure are always kept updated are email address and beneficiary information. Here’s why:

Email addresses

As we move even further into a digital world, email communication will be more and more important. We send out e-alerts to share important information about your personal documents being posted to e-services (like updates on your RMS availability) and interesting (like tips on how to stay cyber safe). Having an email address on file is an added way for us to reach you and provide assistance – so please be sure to update your file with your preferred email address.

Beneficiaries

Naming your beneficiaries is critical - it ensures that your future plans are followed accordingly. Whether you have a spouse, children, estate trustee, or other designated beneficiary, you’ll want to be sure to name them on your file so that any eligible benefits will be applied the way you want them to be. Whether by contacting us directly or logging into your e-services account, be sure to review your beneficiaries and make any necessary updates.

While you’re reviewing your email addresses and beneficiaries, make sure your mailing address is correct, too! Our Client Care Centre often receives returned mail, so ensuring that your physical address is correct with ensure that important information reaches you in a timely fashion.
